Why are so many Christians comfortable inside a system Scripture tells God’s people to leave?
In this episode, Dr. Michael Lake examines one of the most urgent calls in the Book of Revelation:
“Come out of her, my people.” — Revelation 18:4
The warning is significant because God addresses those inside Babylon as “my people.” The problem is not simply that Babylon exists. The danger is that God’s people can become entangled in its values, practices, loyalties, materialism, entertainment, counterfeit identity, and spiritual compromise.

Ephesians 6:11 warns believers about the devil’s “schemes” or “wiles.” The Greek term methodeia conveys calculated, systematic deception—the kind of strategy designed to entangle people gradually rather than capture them all at once.
The message then confronts lukewarm Christianity. Revelation 3 reveals that Laodicea believed it was prosperous and needed nothing, while Christ exposed its true spiritual condition. Material comfort can disguise spiritual poverty, leaving believers satisfied with Babylon while believing they are walking fully in the Kingdom.
