Problems Emailing Partners Using Gmail

For the past two weeks, we have noticed a problem when we email anyone using Gmail. We the “Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender” message from the Gmail servers. Yet, for each email, a different reason is given. One of the more confusing errors we are receiving is “SMTP error from remote server for TEXT command, host: gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com (173.194.194.27) reason: 550-5.7.26 This message does not pass authentication checks.” Whether we are emailing a colleague in ministry or a partner to thank them for giving through PayPal, this has occurred.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. It is far beyond our control. We hope that they can correct the situation quickly whatever the problem is at Gmail.
